Welcome Everyone!

Imagine this… you’re at home, and you’ve watched so much Netflix that it’s actually become…what’s the word… ah yes… stale. The ‘Quarantine To-Do List’ you made during the beginning stopped being motivational two weeks ago. Your spring plans have been laid to rest…and summer isn’t looking much better at the moment. Gone were the days of casually exploring the outside world… or trying a new dine-in restaurant just because… or even bumping into an old friend in public and sharing a smile and quick embrace.
Now, when you have an opportunity to leave home, 9/10 it’s to go to the grocery store. That’s right people, the grocery store has become the new hotspot during quarantine season. Don’t deny it…everyone is doing it. And because most of the general population has to follow the ‘Stay in Place Order’, that means most of your family is stuck at home, burning through food like it’s their last day on Earth. Now if you don’t think you can relate, well just keep scrolling… this part just may not be for you. Buuut, if you feel even just a tinkling of truth in my words, then you’ve come to the right place.
The ‘Stay in Place Order’ has you stuck in the house, either eating up all your quarantine snacks…or cooking a variety of the same five meals every week. Hey…I’m not judging you…I am one of you.
I am in no way a medical professional, but I believe the correct diagnosis is ‘Cabin Fever’. It’s the feeling of being irritable due to long amounts of time being confined indoors. So if most of the country is being confined to their homes, but you don’t want to fall victim to fits of temporary insanity due to being stuck in the house…what is one to do?
Bake of course!
Why not? You already have most of the ingredients anyway. Now is the perfect time to perfect some of your favorite recipes in the kitchen. And not only is it convenient, it can be therapeutic as well. To those who may not be the best at baking or even cooking, I will admit it can be slightly intimidating. I believe its seen this way because you’re over thinking it. Most people won’t perfect any skill on their first try, baking is included in this.
Once you get over your immediate reluctance, you will see just how fun and personable baking can be! You can follow traditional recipes…or completely customize some of your own. And that’s why I’m here. I love to bake and want to share that passion with others.
My vision is to create an online community for those at home bakers who share the same passions as me…or even those who aren’t fans of being in the kitchen, but wish to dabble in it from time to time.
I’m going to try a little bit of everything! Everything from the recipes your grandma has made to food you’ve never tried yourself. Breakfast baked goods, some quick and sweet treats, the cute little cocktails you’ve wanted try, after dinner desserts, and even some popular meals you’ve been wanting to make for ages. If any of this peaks your interest, this is the right place for you.
This blog is a safe space for everyone to share their ideas, experiences, ups and downs in the kitchens, and tips to help others. And the very best part is that you’re free to try everything on your own time. There is no deadline to have the recipe completed, no family nagging you to hurry up because they just can’t wait, no judge to present your dish to… just you cooking and baking on your own terms because it makes you feel good.
"No one is born a great cook, one learns by doing." - Julia Childs...Let's learn together!
Use this time to work on skill that helps feed the soul…literally LOL. I’ve seen the sold out baking supplies at the grocery store…most of you are doing it on your own already. Why not together?
In the words of James Beard- “Food is our common ground, a universal experience.”
Are you looking forward to more posts from this blog? If so, what are some recipes you’d like me to try out?
I like to end my blog post with a song suggestion. I tend to bake with music playing… (something about music playing in the background just makes us so much more productive LOL!). The song will either be inspired by the dish I’ve prepared or something that has played while making it. Feel free to share your favorite baking tracks for this week in the comments!

I'm a fan of cold/cream pies. Would love to stop giving Edward's pies my money and make it myself😆😆
Can’t wait for the recipes! I would like to see cheesecake 👀👀
