Serving: 1 Gallon
Prep Time: 25-30 minutes
Ingredients:
Strawberry Reduction:
1 1/2 lbs (24 oz Fresh Strawberries)
I TBSP honey (or agave)
10 large lemons (8 juiced/ 2 sliced)
1 Gallon of water
2 1/2 cups of sugar (I prefer raw cane sugar)
Handful of fresh strawberries for garnish ( Sliced or Whole)
Directions:
Thoroughly wash your strawberries!
Remove leaves/stems from strawberries, and blend all 24 oz in a blender until smooth. Pour into a small sauce pot, along with the 1 TBSP of honey, and let it boil on high heat for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, reduce heat and let it simmer on medium heat for about 20 more minutes. Always stirring constantly.
After 20 minutes, all liquids from strawberries should have evaporated, leaving only a dark berry paste. Set reduction aside.
Reduction will come to approximately 1 cup, give or take.
Place gallon of water in a large pot. Set pot to medium heat. Add juices from the 8 lemons, strawberry reduction, and sugar. Stir well.
Once sugar has dissolved, remove from heat. Add slices from the handful of strawberries and 2 remaining lemons. Let it cool.
Transfer into your pitcher, and set inside your refrigerator for 1 hour.
Pour cold lemonade into a personal glass, take a pic. with your phone, upload to Instagram, and tag '@kakesbykie'. LOL
Guzzle it down and Enjoy!
