Servings: 1 Gallon
Prep Time:Est.15-20 minutes
Ingredients:
8 Lipton Sweet Tea Bags
1 Gallon of water
4 medium size peaches
2 1/2 cup of sugar (I prefer cane sugar)
1 cup of hot water
1-2 lemon(s) cut into slices
Equipment:
1 large pot
1 small/medium sauce pot
Blender
Large spoon/ scoop
Directions:
Place gallon of water in a large pot, and place on medium heat. Let your 8 tea-bags steep in water while it's heating up.
Blend 3 of the peaches, skin on is fine, until it becomes a smooth puree. Place puree, 1 cup of hot water, and 1 cup of sugar into sauce pot. Bring to medium/high heat. Let boil for 2 minutes and then reduce heat. Let mixture simmer (stirring constantly) until it becomes a nice syrupy texture and the red color darkens. Remove from heat.
Don't burn the syrup!
Combine your peach syrup with your tea mixture in the large pot. Remove large pot containing tea from the heat as well.
Once tea-bags are fully steeped, remove from the pot and throw them away.
Slice last peach into medium pieces and place in tea. Add lemon slices as well.
Combine remaining sugar into the pot (1 1/2 cup sugar should be left). Stir well.
Sugar levels can be adjusted to your preference. It's best to do so while tea is hot, sweetening tea while cold is hella difficult.
Let tea mixture cool down enough to pour it into a pitcher. Place pitcher into your refrigerator and let cool for at least an hour and a half.
Once cold, pour a glass and Enjoy!
